Jeremy Seaver has been songleading since 1989. Born in Illinois, Jeremy was surrounded by a loving, nurturing, and encouraging musical family. Throughout High School, Jeremy taught music and Hebrew at local congregations, and was the assistant director for a children’s choir. Jeremy continued developing his repertoire and musical skills through his involvement in NFTY’s Chicago Area Region youth group, and his numerous years as songleader and head songleader at Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute.
Jeremy has performed and songled for weddings, B’nai Mitzvot, Shabbat, holiday, and High Holiday services. Jeremy has worked on the staff of Hava NaShira, the influential songleader’s workshop at OSRUI in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin and served as the Assistant Director for the Hillel Foundation at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Jeremy has taught, inspired, and shared his love of Jewish music with others on the birthright israel program and on the faculty of Hillel’s Schusterman International Student Leaders Assembly.
Jeremy’s most recent musical project was Shabbat Shirah, catering to a young and dedicated community in Chicago. Shabbat Shirah featured a blend of Traditional Ashkenazi & Sephardi tunes, Carlebach niggunim, contemporary melodies, and new original melodies and arrangements.
Currently you can find Jeremy every month at Temple Beth Israel in Skokie leading a program for young families that he co-founded, Shalom Shabbat.
